is the name of the company that will handle our trip in morocco. i just saw the confirmed (and paid for) itinerary in my inbox, which is what reminded me to write about it here.
no, we are not going on a guided package tour.* the way i understand it, the company books our hotels and takes us from one city/locale to another, but our day's itinerary is up to us. at least i think that's how it goes. i am actually too busy with this tv commercial series (we are editing to air a new one every week until the beginning of may) to actually do any research, which is fine by me. fortunately, we are traveling with friends of BBB's parents and Mr. Ouja likes to do all the research for the trips--what to see, where to go, what to eat and all that. it is a role i would gladly do except i am in over my head with this commercial project and everything is rush rush rush in order to make it to the weekly airing schedule.
i am sure i will like morocco. as i do any country i have never been to before.
cost: Naturally Morocco tailors trips, so our cost may not be that relevant to anybody else. but anyways: for two persons staying in hotels in various places in morocco for 12 days (with breakfast) and van rental (shared vehicle with BBB's parents and Mr. & Mrs. Ouja) the cost is GBP1,300. hmmm. that is roughly 8 or 9 thousand pesos per night. i have no point of reference on whether that is cheap or expensive or what. by fiilpino standards, any travel outside of the philippines is pretty damn expensive anyway. but hey, how many times does one go to morocco?
we're flying via qatar airways. cebu-doha-casablanca-marrakech.
*i have never been on one and don't ever intend to go on one. i am used to having a 50% itinerary from doing travel-style documentary programs. that means you have some sort of plan for the day, or a least a definite destination for the day, but what you actually do on the day is played by ear.
